Who can ride what, and how we keep the day fun for everyone — pick an age to see the guidance and the rides that fit.
📏 Heights are estimates — verify at the parkAge 4 guidance
22 rides fit- Height Most rides under 40" are fine. A 40" ride (Seven Dwarfs, Big Thunder, Soarin') is borderline — measure at the park before queueing. Skip 42"+ (Gringotts), 44" (Flight of Passage), and 48" (Hagrid's).
- Intensity Stick to gentle-to-mild rides and shows. Ease into dark rides with Pirates or Haunted Mansion before anything with a drop or a sudden scare.
- Child swap Use Rider Swap (child swap) on any ride the 4-year-old is too short for or won't do — one adult rides while the other waits with the child, then they swap without re-queueing.
- Stroller Bring or rent a stroller. Long park days plus the midday pool break make it essential — and it doubles as a nap spot.
- Nap A midday nap matters more than one more ride. Pair it with the pool break; a stroller nap in a quiet corner works when the park day runs long.
- Tap-out Tap-out is the adult rotation: one adult stays with the 4-year-old (stroller, nap, gentle rides) while the other takes the older kids — swap at a set ride or a set time.

Age 5 guidance
23 rides fit- Height Clears 40" rides comfortably and is borderline at 42" (Gringotts). Too short for 44" Flight of Passage and 48" Hagrid's.
- Intensity Handles mild coasters (Seven Dwarfs, Big Thunder) fine; judge the thrill rides (Flight of Passage, Gringotts) case by case.
- Child swap Rider Swap covers the few too-tall or too-intense rides; otherwise a 5-year-old rides alongside an adult.
- Stroller Stroller optional but useful for long days and late nights; a single stroller shared between kids is enough.
- Nap May skip the nap but still needs a quiet midday reset — the pool break or a slow dark ride (Na'vi River Journey, Frozen Ever After) does the job.
- Tap-out Rotate adults on the big-kid rides so one grown-up can always sit with the 5-year-old through a long wait or a wobble.

25 rides fit- Height Tall enough for nearly everything on the trip, including Flight of Passage (44") and Hagrid's (48"). Double-check any 48"+ before queueing.
- Intensity Ready for the thrill rides — Flight of Passage, Gringotts, Hagrid's, Big Thunder. Pace them so the day doesn't peak too early.
- Child swap Rarely needed; child swap only when the 8-year-old pairs with a younger sibling and one adult waits.
- Stroller No stroller — an 8-year-old walks all day. Pack comfortable shoes and a water bottle instead.
- Nap No nap; keeps adult hours but still benefits from the midday pool break to reset legs and mood.
- Tap-out The 8-year-old is the tap-out buddy — old enough to ride with one adult while the other takes the little ones, so the thrill rides split fairly between families.
